Scope and Content Loch Erisort is an 8-mile-long narrow sea inlet on the east coast of the island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The Prince passed along the head of the loch on or about May 4th 1746 as he made his way north towards Stornoway in his flight from the pursuing forces of George II. Entry was refused by the townsfolk so after two days he had to sail south where he passed the mouth of the loch.
