Scope and Content The Knoydart area of the Highlands is just north of Loch Nevis on the west coast. It is Scotland's remaining wilderness. The Prince passed near to here in July 1746 as he made his way across Scotland to escape the pursuing forces of George II's army. The loch was enlarged in the mid 20th century by building a dam for a hydro-electric scheme.
