Scope and Content Steeple of Parish Church and Anstruther Wester Town Hall, Anstruther Wester, Fife The steeple was constructed in the 16th century as part of the Parish Church. From early on it was also used for burgh purposes, especially as a prison. In the late 18th century, a new Town Hall was built next door to share the steeple with the church. The steeple stands between the Parish Church (right), probably rebuilt in the the 18th century, and the Town Hall (left). The churchyard contains gravestones dating back to the 17th century.
