It was converted into a parish church in 1663, the rest of the abbey having lain derelict since the end of the 16th century. The manse has been rebuilt several times since it was constructed in the 17th century to house the minister of the parish church. The church tower behind it was built around 1500 but has modern battlements. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
