Administrative History Falcon Hall, eighteenth and nineteenth century villa. Built in 1780 for the hosiery manufacturer and future Lord Provost of Edinburgh, William Coulter, and then named Morningside Lodge, the villa was extended by the architect Thomas Hamilton for the East India Company merchant Andrew Falconar. The villa was demolished in 1909.
