Scope and Content This image shows Stracathro Roman Camp, cropmarks revealing the S, W and E gates with their distinctive clavicular shape, along with parts of the camp ditch. Also visible is part of the possible annex to the fort lying to the NE. Note also at least 3 pale linear streaks running across the field possibly parallel with the fort alignment and either remains of internal path divisions in the camp or modern widely-spaced field drains capped with subsoil as in SC1970196. The cropmark features at Ballownie are also visible. Also over the NW corner of the camp is a curious rectilinear feature possibly natural but defined by a narrow ditch and broad russet brown strip on either side in the crop. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
