Scope and Content This is a view of Inverness taken from above Inverness Railway Station, showing the Loch Gorm locomotive works and marshalling yards, looking across part of the Longman Industrial Estate to the mouth of the River Ness. Merkinch, South Kessock, and the entry of the Caledonian Canal at Clachnaharry into the Beauly Firth can all be seen, as can North Kessock and Charleston on the N side of the Firth.
