Scope and Content Castle Grant was the seat of the chief of the powerful Hanoverian Clan Grant. Dendrochronology has dated the earliest pine timbers to 1512. However most of the castle dates to the time of Sir Ludovic Grant, the renovation being carried out during 1753-83 under the supervision of the architect John Adam.
