Scope and Content A general view of Inverness from the Holm area looking down the River Ness and the Caledonian Canal, across the city to the Kessock Bridge, the Black Isle and the Moray Firth. Torvean Quarry (mid-left, closed in 1989), Tomnahurich Hill (converted into a cemetery in the 19th century and still in partial use) and the Kessock Bridge are the most prominent features in this image.
