Scope and Content A close view of the grand C18 Cromarty House and gardens. To the right of the house towards the trees, a stone lined well is the only surviving feature of the medieval castle which was demolished ahead of the building of the house. In the process bronze or iron age burial cists and cremation urns were discovered but no trace remains. To the left of the house a 19th century tunnel leads down through the trees to the roadway.
