Scope and Content Ardross Castle was remodelled and extended in 1880-81, incorporating an earlier building. It originally belonged to the Munros but then passed to the Mathesons and then on to the Perrins family (of Lee and Perrins fame) in 1880. Mains of Ardross is at upper left. In 2018 a distillery was established on this site, refurbishing and extending the farm buildings. There is also a tradition of a battle having been fought in this area. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
