Scope and Content Just R of centre is the site of Gilcrist promontory fort. Cropmarks from aerial photographs show the arcs of three concentric ditches, which formed part of the defensive system, probably early Bronze Age to Pictish. The site was excavated by North of Scotland Archaeological Society in 2018. Mansfield show ground is at top L.
