Scope and Content This is a view of the area around Culloden House which is among the trees in the middle of the picture. Culloden House was the home of the Forbes family and built in 1776 on the site of an earlier building, remains of which can be seen in the cellar of the present house. The home farm and stables have been converted into domestic dwellings. To the left of Culloden House is Culloden Academy which was established in 1978 and operated from Millburn Academy in Inverness for 4 years till this building was ready for occupation. The Nairn Viaduct can be seen in the distance at top of picture. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
