Scope and Content A wide view of Kessock Bridge and the Moray Firth beyond. On the summit of the tree covered hill above the left hand bridge foot is Ord Hill vitrified hill fort. Below the right hand bridge foot close to the mouth of the River Ness is the recessed harbour and to its right, in front of the storage tanks the Longman Quay. To the right and above that the long white building and associated structures occupy part of the early 20th century Municipal Airport, later a WW2 RAF Airfield. In the left hand corner the ships are berthed at the early 19th century Thornbush Quay built under the supervision of Thomas Telford.
