Scope and Content Little Bog, Ranageig, farmstead and cairns, Perth and Kinross There are a number of farmsteads and buildings in an area centred on the steading of Ranageig, and extending beyond the north end of Loch Benachally. Visible here is the farmstead of Little Bog, partly overlain by a more recent sheepfold. The farmstead comprises at least five buildings, ranging in length from 11.8m to 27m, and two kilns. To the right are the remains of two prehistoric burial cairns, standing up to 1m in height. The occupants of farmsteads like this example were farmers who cultivated the surrounding land. Some of the buildings were houses, others were byres and barns. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
