Scope and Content Pitcarmick Burn, hut-circles, field-system and buildings, Perth and Kinross Located on a series of knolls and ridges about 800m south-east of Pitcarmick Loch, there is an extensive group of prehistoric hut-circles accompanied by a field-system. Later buildings, shieling-huts and associated structures can also be found. The extent of the remains is visible in this aerial photograph. Some of the prehistoric hut-circles can be seen, although it is the small cairns of the field-system that predominate in this picture. In north-east Perth, field survey and aerial photography have identified extensive prehistoric settlement remains in areas and at heights rarely occupied today. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
