Scope and Content Prepared for Britton’s RIBA lecture delivered on the 12 January 1846. Britton contrasts the architectural importance of Roslyn chapel to the historic architecture of Egypt, Greece, and Rome. The lecture subsequently emphasises the beauty and importance of the medieval Christian architecture of Britain, with reference made to the cathedrals of Lincoln, York, and Salisbury.
