Archaeology Notes (1973 - 1977)

NR93SW 7 9050 3248.

(NR 9050 3248). A solitary standing stone, mentioned by Bryce, is shown in this position on Mackie's plan.

There is no trace of a stone or socket at the position indicated. The nearest earthfast stone is that at NR 9053 3239, placed against a fence line and evidently once used as a boundary marker. There are several such stones along the line of this E-W fence with iron post stumps protruding from their top surface.
