The old church at Collace, of which only the walls stand, was converted into the Nairne Mausoleum after the death of Lord Dunsinane in 1812. It is a rectangular rubble-built enclosure with a battlemented top (probably of 1813) and has a very fine semicircular chancel arch of the 13th century which was considerably repaired c.1813.

Field Visit (December 1989)
The medieval parish church of Collace stood to the S of the present church (1813) on the site now occupied by the Nairne of Dunsinnan Aisle (c.1813).
A fine (partially-restored) processional doorway of late 12th- or early 13th-century date has been incorporated into the middle of the S wall of the aisle. Within the burial-ground, there are a fragment of a medieval disc-headed cross and a number of 18th-century gravestones.
The Parsonage in on record by 1287, and the church was dedicated to St Euchan.

Resistivity (22 August 2007 - 27 August 2007)
NO 1969 3197 An exploratory resistivity survey of Collace churchyard carried out from 22–7 August 2007 failed to find direct evidence of the remains of the former medieval church. Regional resistivity variations, however, support the idea that the Nairne burial aisle, which was built on the site of the old church, maintains the orientation of the demolished building.
