Invergordon Station [NAT]

(Location cited as NH 704 686) Invergordon Station, opened 1863 by the Inverness and Ross-shire Railway. An unusual station for the area, with a long single-storey stone building on the up platform. This has a Flemish-style gabled main entrance, and a glazed awning supported on cast-iron brackets [on the platform side].
There is a lattice-girder footbridge linking the two platforms.

This intermediate station on the Inverness - Wick and Thurso ('Far North') line of the (former) Highland Rly was opened by the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction (Inverness and Ross-shire) Rly on 23 May 1863. It remains in regular use by passenger traffic.
