Site Management (1 March 2012)

Part late 16th century, much extended 18th and early 19th long rambling composition, 2-storey, semicircular stair tower corbelled to square, Roman doric pilastered porch and doorpiece, semi-elliptical pend arch; whitewashed stucco with painted margins, slated, west part pantiled with slate skirting and slated dormers. Former coaching inn. (Historic Scotland)


Field Visit (23 June 1927)

Commercial Hotel, Anstruther Easter.

This building, which stands on the left bank of the Dreel Burn at its entrance to the harbour, dates from the late 16th or early 17th century. It has been almost entirely modernised but retains a stair-tower, circled on the lower part but corbelled out to square above first-floor level.
