A burnt mound is located a quarter of a mile SE of Braefield House.

Measured Survey (1930)

RCAHMS surveyed the burnt mound at Braefield in 1930. The plan was redrawn in ink and published at a reduced scale (RCAHMS 1946, Fig. 519)

Field Visit (18 May 1968)

At HU 4107 1813, Knowe of Willol, a crescentic burnt mound c.2.0m maximum height.

Surveyed at 1/2500.

Visited by OS(RL) 18th may 1968.
