(NS 8939 5967). A shallow depression to the N of the spoil heap may represent the air shaft that is depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Lanarkshire, 1899, sheet xiii). (CSW 3410).

(NS 8939 5966). This spoil heap is adjacent to the air shaft and is depicted on the 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Lanarkshire, 1899, sheet xiii). (CSW 3411).

These remains are probably those of a coal mine.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, IF), 10 January 1995.
