Activities

Field Visit (July 1994)

NT05NW 10.03 0280 5550

The engine house on the E side of the Glenfield Burn was possibly connected to Lawhead Mine (NT05NW 11) but supplied by tramways eminating from Tarbrax shale-oil works (NT05NW 10.00).

Some 50m up the burn is the remains of a dam with an electric dynamo house which supplied power, either to the shale-oil works or the mine.
