Activities

Field Visit (10 November 1994)

NS95NE 63 9613 5882 to 9641 5781

See also NS95NE 64.

The first edition of the OS six-inch map (Edinburghshire, sheet xv, 1854) notes a narrow and irregular track between NS 9613 5882 and the Carnwath parish boundary (NS 9641 5781) as 'Drove Loan'. It probably represents a continuation of the road noted further N (NS95NE 64) running southwards from Falkirk tryst. Its line appears to have taken the E side of Paddy's River, but this area is under dense afforestation.
