Archaeology Notes

HU37NW 5 3122 7675.

(HU 313 767). A burnt mound lies about 170 yds. ESE of the house of Orbister, above the chapel site (H37NW 6 ), and 200 yds from the shore at Hamar Voe. The mound was discovered in the cutting of a drain and measures 30' N-S by 24' E-W by 3' in height. A burn runs down the steep slope alongside.
