Scattered along the slope of the hill below the hut circles (ND12NW 1) are a number of mounds, from 12 to 18ft in diameter and 2 to 2 1/2ft in height.
RCAHMS 1911, visited 1910.
These are field clearance heaps, associated with the nearby hut circles.

A field system of meandering field walls, set deep in peat, and numerous clearance heaps, exposed by recent heather burning.
