Panbride church is undoubtedly very old though its date of erection is unknown. It appears that the original form of the building was a cross; the arms to the S and E were removed, and the E one rebuilt in 1681.
NEw Statistical Account (NSA) 1845.
The church of St Bridget at Panbride was a vicarage belonging to Arbroath Abbey, but, in all probability, the present church is not older than the Reformation.
J Carrie 1881.
Entirely rebuilt on the original site in 1851.
A J Warden 1885.
Wholly modern.
Visited by OS 30 May 1958.

The Vault. Memorandum. It concludes that the lead coffin is that of George,
