Archaeology Notes

NO11NE 109 1965 1921

For (adjacent) pier, see NO11NE 76.

(Location cited as NO 197 192). Fishery, Cairnie Pier, 19th century. An interesting group of buildings, the oldest of which are two 1-storey and basement rubble stores. From the rear a 2ft (0.6m)-gauge railway, partly laid with bridge rails, runs to a beach on the Tay for the loading of salmon.

J R Hume 1977.
