Archaeology Notes

ND02SE 18 0731 2003.

ND 0731 2003. An irregular area, 45 by 35m, of amorphous ridges, 1.0m in maximum height, and deep depressions, grass-covered and possibly natural, but lying in Tulloch Field; the immediately adjacent field has no large stones or irregularities.

C Batey 1982.

An undulating area as described, with approximately half a dozen large upright slabs on site. The area has almost certainly been quarried for the adjacent field wall and whether the upright stones are a fortuitous result of this work, which seems likely, or have been deliberately erected is not completely clear.

Visited by OS (JB) 3 September 1982.
