The ruins of a farm steading.

Name Book 1873.

A farmstead comprising three unroofed buildings, one of which is long building with three compartments, is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet ix). Two unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1987).

Braxside farmstead, comprising three or four buildings, enclosures and an area of cultivated ground lying between the Backside Burn and an unnamed tributary to the N, was noted during a pre-afforestation survey of Sandside Estate.
