(Name NY 2717 6543) Tower (NR) (Site of)

OS 6" map (1957)

Remains of the square Border tower at Westhills Farm formed part of the barn wall in 1858 (Name Book 1858-98), and it was said that the outbuildings were built of stones from the tower. Date not known. The majority of the many border towers in the area are 16th c.

New Statistical Account (NSA) 1841 (Roddick)

NY 2721 6545. The walls of the barn have been whitewashed and a hay shed has been built onto the south side. No remains of the tower could be found and no further information could be obtained locally.
