Archaeology Notes

NX06NE 54 0936 6670 to 0976 6648.

A stony bank at least 450m long runs across the crest of Beoch Hill. Although it is almost completely buried beneath the peat on the crest of the ridge, lengths of the bank are visible both on the NW slopes 90m to the SW of the White Cairn (NX06NE 5) and also on the SE slopes when it crosses the wire fence 150m NE of the sheepfold.

At least one other short length of a bank is visible 150m W of the sheepfold and 60m SE of the cairn NX06NE 6.

RCAHMS 1987, visited (SH) 6 May 1986.
