Archaeology Notes (1957 - 1962)

NT58SE 14 5942 8277.

(Area: NT 5940 8302) Beside the farm of Gleghornie is the site, marked by some old trees, of a village which bore the same name, extant in 1469.

C E Green 1907

NT 5942 8277. The site of this village, pointed out by the farmer, Mr Shepherd, Glenhornie Farm, occupies a rocky area to the south of the farm and two of the trees mentioned still stand at the east side of the site. Slight traces only of some walling and the slight outline of a possible building is all that can be seen.
