Archaeology Notes

NC60SE 16 6857 0395.

At NC 6857 0395, set back in the slope at the foot of a south-facing stone-strewn hillside is a hut circle.

There are no signs of associated land use. The hut, turf-covered, measures about 10.0m diameter internally. The wall in the south half is indeterminate and in the remainder of the hut is reduced to a rubble spread at best 2.0m broad and 0.3m high. The entrance is no longer discernible.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.

Visited by OS (J M) 3 October 1980.
