These two enclosures are situated on flat, cultivated land. There is nothing to be seen on the ground.

Sites surveyed at 1:2500 from CUCAP air photographs BD 48, DJ 70.

Visited by OS 1 March 1971.

What may be ploughed-down field boundaries have been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 2000) immediately S of Easter Cowden, lying to the S and E of the enclosure recorded at NT 3621 6748.

Cropmarks immediately to the S of Easter Cowden reveal the S, E and W sides of a subrectangular enclosure measuring 40m by at least 40m over its ditch.

Easter Cowden 2 NT 3616 6737 NT36NE 16

Cropmarks reveal a rectangular enclosure, measuring 35m from NE to SW by 25m transversely within a ditch 2m broad, about 200m SW of Easter Cowden. There is an entrance with expanded ditch terminals in the middle of the NE side.
