On the brink of a low natural scarp, 250 yds in length, that crosses the foot of Laigh Hill between Stanhope fort (No 318) and the left bank of the Stanhope Burn, there are two farm-steads, one of which (A) was probably superseded by the other.
RCAHMS 1967, visited 1956
Depopulation of uncertain date but probably the footings of the farm buildings which immediately pre-date the present farm.
Visited by OS (WJ) 30 July 1963 and (RD) 20 July 1972.
