Activities

Field Visit (September 1976)

Extending for a distance of approximately 250m on a shoulder of gently sloping ground to the N of the summit of Corse Law there is a group of about ten small, roughly circular cairns measuring about 3m in average diameter and seldom more than 0.3m in height. Since first visited in 1968, the cairns have been obscured by a heavy growth of heather (cf NT05SE 3).

Field Visit (12 February 1979)

NT05SW 5 019 506.

A group of about a dozen amorphous grass-covered low stony mounds occupy 6.0 hectares of the crest of Corse Law. They do not resemble burial cairns and are probably random accumulations of stone clearance. There is no trace of lynchets or field banks to be seen. On the summit of Corse Law, and within the group, are two possible barrows (see NT05SW 18).
