Archaeology Notes

Inn built prior to 1744, recast 19th century. This building appears to have been demolished although the remains of a western wall is still visible. It was formerly a Listed Building Category C(s) and does not appear to have been de-listed.

Site recorded by GUARD during the Coastal Assessment Survey for Historic Scotland, 'The Firth of Forth from Dunbar to the Coast of Fife' 24 February 1996.

Mar Hotel is depicted on the OS 2nd Edition map (Clackmannanshire, sheet CXXXIX, 1900). It has since been demolished.
