Designs for a D-plan castellated house for Robert Haldane Esq. Very late in Adam's ouevre, with earlier designs begun 1790, and these castellated proposals (see collection items B30609 -B30611), proberbly early 1791. Executed without Robert Adam's supervision, but instead under Thomas Russell, who offered a cheaper rate. Forecourt never built; entrance front rebuilt 1891. (See A.Rowan, 'Designs For Castles and Country Villas', p.144-145).
