Field Visit (June 1971)

NS 848 468. Cairn, West Wood, The Lee: This cairn, 660m SE of The Lee, is situated on a tree-covered knoll just beyond the S boundary of West Wood. Measuring about 10m in diameter and 1.5m in height, it is now generally grass-covered, but some stones are visible in central depression and round the perimeter.

RCAHMS 1978, visited June 1971

This cairn is situated on a knoll about 190m NNE of the derelict West Lodge to the Lee. It measures 10m in diameter by at least 0.8m in height. A depression 3m across in the top of the cairn suggests that it has been dug into.

Surveyed at 1:2500.

Visited by RCAHMS (SPH) 9 September 1983.

Scheduled as Auchenglen, cairn.

Information from Historic Scotland, scheduling document dated 27 January 2005.
