NS79NW 46.01 72023 98643 Crane

(Location cited as NS 720 986). Blairdrummond Sawmill, mid 19th century. A single-storey rubble building, with a wooden extension. A wooden post crane is bracketted out from the rubble building. The mill was driven by an 8-spoke, all-iron, high-breast wheel, 4ft 8in wide by 16ft diameter (1.42 by 4.88m) with a 288-tooth internal gear ring driving a 32-tooth pinion.
