(Area centred NS 7445 8605) About 150 yards north of Craigengelt House there is a mound similar to the Ghost's Knowe (Stirl 23 NW 1) but only half its size. It is also flanked with stones at equal distances from each other.
New Statistical Account (NSA) 1845
No mound was seen in the area indicated, and no information obtained during field investigation.
Visited by OS (JLD) 6 May 1953
Field Visit (15 May 1943)
Nothing could be seen of the other cairns noted by the New Statistical Account as existing near the Ghost's Knowe and Craigenelt [cf. NS78NW 4], although some irregular settings of large stones, possibly the foundations of huts or enclosures, were noted in the rough field immediately north-west of the farm. There is also a mound on the north bank of Buckie Barn about 300 yds east of Craigenelt, but this appears to be natural [cf. NS78NW 5].
Visited by RCAHMS 15 May 1943.
