The ruins of an ancient tower of the Basons of Boquhan were dug up shortly before 1793 in the field of 'Old Hall', "and some aged men can remember the old iron door and grated windows" (Lt Gen Fletcher Campbell MS 1793).
W Chrystal 1903
The field of old-hall is on the east side of the glen of Boquhan (OSA) and, in 1817 (Grasson), Auldhall was at, or near, its present site -
NS 661 935. The tower, therefore, is likely to be in this area.
OSA 1796; Grasson 1817
The ruins of the old tower of Boquhan were dug up about 1760 'in the field of 'Old Hall' and at that time its iron yett and grated windows were still remembered.
