Activities

Field Visit (August 1978)

Balfron, Parish Church and Burial-ground + NS 548 892 NS 58 NW

There was a church at Balfron in the early 14th century. The present church was not built until 1832, replacing one built in 1793, but a pre-Reformation tombstone in the burial ground suggests that this is probably the site of the medieval church.
