The fragmentary remains of this pre-Reformation church may still be seen on the mound to the left of the entrance to Kilkerran cemetary.

The only certain remains of the church is a stretch of the N wall, 6.0m long by 1.0m thick and 1.1m high. A probable fragment of the S side, 3.0m long, is buried under rubble. The rest of the area of the church is covered by funerary monuments.

Old Parish Church, Kilkerran (Site): There are now no recognisable remains of this church, which stood towards the centre of what is now the innermost portion of Kilkerran Cemetery. The outline of a building could still be traced during the third quarter of the 19th century, however, when its dimensions were recorded as "under sixty feet (18.3m) in length by less than twenty (6.1m) in width" (White 1873). The church was dedicated to St Ciaran and first comes on record shortly before the middle of the 13th century. After the Reformation, the parish was combined with others to form what is now Campbeltown parish.
