Field Visit (May 1965)

Cairn, Uisaed.

A round cairn, measuring 13.7 min diameter and 1.2 m in greatest height, stands within 18.5 m of the shore on the E. side of Uisaed promontory, W. of Machrihanish village. It is largely overgrown by grass, but several of the stones of the original kerb survive round the S. part of the perimeter; the two largest measure up to 0.8 m in length by 0.5 m in

thickness and protrude 0.4 m above ground.
