Activities

Watching Brief (23 May 2017 - 7 July 2017)

NH 64361 48585 A watching brief was undertaken, 23 May – 7 July 2017, during the removal of topsoil in advance of Phase 7 of a housing development. An earlier phase of excavation had revealed a group of Neolithic features and a substantial roundhouse with associated features of Iron Age date immediately S of the current site (DES 2009, 105). The partial remains of a Late Iron Age roundhouse was excavated along with groups of pits dating to the Neolithic and Bronze Age, and three possible kilns.
