Note (1982)

Nether Warburton NO 736 633 NO76SW

About 1847 earth-moving operations revealed a cave (since reburied by a cliff-fall) 300m NE of Nether Warburton farmhouse. At a low level within the fill of what was probably an outer chamber were found part of a human skull and a pot, while a higher layer contained the bones of ruminant animals, in some instances worked by man. Some of the bones from this layer are retained in Angus District Museum (ADM M.1977.72).
