Watching Brief (24 February 2015 - 30 July 2015)
An archaeological watching brief was required by NHS Lothian during groundbreaking works associated with the Little France Children’s Hospital, at Little France, Edinburgh (NGR: NT 28986 70350). The development is located within the complex of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France Crescent, Little France, Edinburgh, and adjacent to the mid 19th Century Little France Steading and Mill.
No archaeological remains were noted during the course of the works.

Watching Brief (17 November 2015)
AOC Archaeology Group was commissioned by NHS Lothian to undertake an archaeological watching brief during ground-breaking works associated with the Flood Prevention Scheme at Burdiehouse Burn, Moredunvale Road, Little France, Edinburgh (NT 28860 70095).
These works are associated with the nearby development of the Children’s Hospital, which is located within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh complex (NGR: NT 28986 70350).
The Flood Development Scheme is located to the south west of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh complex.
The watching brief works covered the excavation of the ground breaking works excavated for the sighting of the Flood Prevention Scheme, as well as test pits used to locate a number of services. It also included the general, shallow, ground reduction for the removal of invasive weeds consisting of Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed and Himalayan Balsam.
No significant archaeological remains were noted during the course of the works. No further works are considered necessary.
